Editorial Guidelines

Editorial Guidelines

Last updated: 2025.08.13

These guidelines explain how Globaity selects, verifies, and presents stories. They apply to all formats (news, explainers, guides, reviews, social posts, newsletters).

1) Our Principles

  • Accuracy first: We verify claims with primary sources whenever possible and clearly label uncertainty.
  • Independence: Editorial choices are made without interference from advertisers, sponsors, or partners.
  • Fairness: We seek relevant perspectives, provide context, and avoid sensationalism or misleading framing.
  • Transparency: We disclose methods, conflicts, sponsorships, affiliate relationships, and corrections.

2) Sourcing & Verification

  • Prefer primary sources (official statements, filings, research papers, direct data).
  • When citing other outlets, credit them and link where possible.
  • Anonymous sources are used sparingly and require editorial approval with a clear public-interest rationale.
  • Quotes are exact; brackets and ellipses are used to preserve meaning. Paraphrases are clearly attributed.

3) Corrections & Updates

  • Corrections: Substantive errors are corrected promptly with a note describing what changed.
  • Updates: When stories develop, we append time‑stamped updates or publish a follow‑up piece and link between them.
  • Readers can request a correction at corrections@globaity.com.

4) Headlines, Decks & Social

  • Headlines must be accurate, proportional, and supported by the body text.
  • No clickbait: avoid exaggeration, bait‑and‑switch, and needlessly alarmist language.
  • We avoid over‑promising outcomes in how‑to and investment content; risks and limits are stated up front.

5) AI & Automation

  • AI tools may assist with research, transcription, or style consistency; editors review and are responsible for all published text.
  • We do not publish AI‑generated news images that depict real‑world events without explicit labeling.
  • Images must be licensed (royalty‑free stock or original) and include alt text; AI images are labeled as such.

6) Conflicts of Interest

  • Contributors must disclose financial interests, consulting, gifts, or relationships relevant to coverage.
  • We do not accept gifts or incentives that could influence coverage; nominal items may be declined or donated.

7) Reviews, Recommendations & Affiliate Links

  • Reviews describe real‑world use and limitations; sample sources (loaned, purchased, or provided) are disclosed.
  • Affiliate links may appear and are disclosed; they do not affect our editorial judgments.
  • Scoring (if used) reflects clear criteria. We explain major pros, cons, and alternatives.

8) Privacy & Safety

  • We avoid publishing personal data (addresses, contact info) without consent or compelling public interest.
  • We take extra caution with minors and vulnerable individuals.
  • We avoid doxxing, dog‑whistles, and unnecessary identifiers.

9) Diversity & Inclusion

  • We strive for inclusive sourcing and representation across regions, backgrounds, and expertise.
  • We use people‑first, respectful language and avoid stereotypes.

10) Plagiarism & Fabrication

  • Plagiarism, fabricated quotes, or invented details are zero‑tolerance violations.
  • We cite original reporting and credit data and images to their owners or sources.

11) Visuals & Captions

  • Every image used must have clear rights for commercial use (e.g., Pexels, Pixabay, Unsplash, or licensed stock) and include: Title, Alt, Caption, Description.
  • We avoid “editorial use only” images for ad‑supported pages unless clearly justified and labeled.
  • Composite or illustrative images are labeled as such; diagrams should be brand‑neutral.

12) Health, Fitness & Finance Content

  • Include evidence (studies, guidelines) with links to primary sources where possible.
  • Disclose uncertainties and contraindications. Avoid guarantees (“will make you rich/fit”).
  • Add disclaimers linking to Terms and relevant sections.

13) Moderation & Community

  • We welcome constructive feedback and civil discourse. Harassment, hate speech, and spam may be removed.
  • Report concerns to hello@globaity.com.

14) Corrections Process (Step‑by‑Step)

  1. Receive report → log claim, URL, time, reporter.
  2. Verify against sources; contact parties for comment if needed.
  3. Update article with corrected fact and an editor’s note (timestamped).
  4. For major issues, post a standalone correction/clarification and link across platforms.
